She has extensive experience in business development, growth and profitability, strategy creation and Implementation, people management and metrics driven process design and improvement.
Solutions-focused and results-oriented, she coaches senior managers to achieve organizational and professional goals to improve business results, improve operational effectiveness and improve personal performance, all of which have been a part of her own professional life.
Over the past 30 years of her career, over 25 of which has been in IT Services, Rajani has nurtured and grown several businesses in telecom for TCS. As one of the longest standing members of the TCS Telecom business (’91-2011), she has been associated with every telecom account in TCS.
As the P&L owner for the Telecom Service Providers business in Europe, Rajani grew the business by over 30% in three years. She also laid the foundation for the growth of the business by winning several new accounts, which have since quadrupled the business.
From 2004-2008, Rajani led the Solutions Delivery for the telecom business. This included six of TCS’s top-20 strategic accounts with over 3000 people in 45 locations across the world.
Rajani is an acknowledged expert in setting up and innovatively managing the business development and operations of IT Services Delivery Centers for global customers, as she has a strong understanding of linkages between strategy and execution and its impact on growth and profit. Her appreciation and respect for cultural differences has been key to her success.
Rajani is a qualified assessor for SEI-CMMi, SEI-People CMM and the various ISO standards.
She led the team that won the first CMM Level 5 rating for TCS in 1999 and was an assessor for TCS’s global People-CMM program in 2002.
She played a pivotal role in the design, implementation and improvement of software metrics programs to reduce cycle time, improve quality and productivity.
Academic Qualifications
An Electrical Engineer from NIT, Nagpur, Rajani did her post-graduation in Electronic Design from IISC, Bangalore.
She is accredited as a CEO Coach by Coaching Foundation India and is a Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coach. In 2004, Madras Management Association recognised her as the Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year.
